Romain Pertuzot

Chorey-les-Beaune, Burgundy

Romain comes from a long-established winegrowing family in Chorey-les-Beaune, rooted in the village for generations. His path started early: as a teenager, he learned to vinify alongside his father, who spent over 30 years as maître de chai at Louis Latour in Beaune. His first bottled vintage was 2005 — a great year in Burgundy and a defining moment for him.

From there, he continued to refine his craft with some of the region’s most respected names: Nicolas Rossignol in Volnay, Anne Gros in Vosne-Romanée, and seven years as chef de cave at Domaine Jacques Prieur.

In September 2024, Romain officially launched his own domaine. Today he farms 3.2 hectares across Chorey-les-Beaune, Beaune and Pommard, complemented by a small négociant activity for Bourgogne Aligoté and Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. His vineyards are worked biodynamically, without herbicides, guided by lunar cycles and meticulous detail. His goal is simple: to produce Burgundies of clarity, authenticity and terroir-driven precision.

Chorey-les-Beaune 2023 — Romain Pertuzot

This Chorey-les-Beaune comes from gravel- and limestone-based soils north of Beaune. Farmed biodynamically and harvested by hand, it shows clean Pinot Noir character: red cherry, raspberry, light spice and fine tannins. Vinified with a gentle extraction, it reflects Romain’s precise approach and offers a balanced, transparent expression of the village.

Pommard „Les Vignots“ 2023 — Romain Pertuzot

“Les Vignots” is a higher-altitude vineyard on the slope above Pommard, known for its limestone-rich soils and structured fruit. Romain’s parcel borders the vines of Madame Leroy. The wine shows darker fruit, firm but refined tannins and a mineral line typical of the site. Biodynamic farming and careful cellar work bring clarity and definition to this Pommard.

La Leux 2024 – Maison Glandien by Tino Kuban

La Leux comes from a 60-year-old Pinot Noir vineyard in Saint-Jean-de-Vaux and is fermented entirely whole bunch. The combination of old vines, limestone soils and stem-inclusion gives the wine lifted aromatics, fine-grained structure and a slightly spicy edge. A focused, well-defined Pinot Noir with depth and freshness.
