! THE ORIGINAL UNICORNS !I

Martial Angeli Ferme de la Sansonniere

Anjou, Loire

Martial Angeli represents the next chapter of one of Anjou’s most quietly influential estates: Ferme de la Sansonnière. The domaine was shaped by his father, Mark Angeli, a true pioneer who committed to organic and biodynamic farming long before it became a movement, setting a benchmark for Chenin Blanc rooted in energy, balance, and place. Martial grew up inside this philosophy — not as an inheritance to reinvent, but as something to understand deeply and carry forward with intention.

a true pioneer who committed to organic and biodynamic

Today, father and son work closely side by side, and you can feel it in the wines: nothing here is rushed, forced, or overthought. Farming always comes first, cellar work remains deliberately minimal, and every decision serves clarity rather than control. The wines are precise yet generous, structured but never rigid, marked by that unmistakable Sansonnière signature — quiet intensity, natural harmony, and a sense of life that unfolds slowly in the glass. These are not wines that chase attention. They reward patience, trust, and curiosity!

Domaine Lassak

Hessigheim, Württemberg

Domaine Lassak is one of those young German estates that feels less like a project and more like a statement. Based in Württemberg, Stefanie and Fabian Lassak work some of the region’s steep, terraced Muschelkalk slopes with a clarity of vision that immediately sets them apart. Steffi studied in Geisenheim and spent extended time working in Austria and Burgundy, where she sharpened her understanding of precision and finesse during formative time at Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair in Vosne-Romanée. While Fabi is a trained viticulture technician with a deep understanding of vineyard structure and balance. This shared foundation shapes their approach — thoughtful farming, clarity of intention, and wines built on tension rather than volume.

The energy unmistakably forward-looking

What defines Lassak is confidence paired with restraint. Farming is bio-dynamical, cellar work is reduced to what’s essential, and the wines are allowed to find their own balance. Riesling is taut and mineral, Lemberger carries depth without heaviness, and their Pinot Noir feels lifted, transparent, and quietly serious. There’s an unmistakable sense of tension and calm coexisting in the glass — wines that don’t perform, but hold. Production remains small, the focus razor-sharp, and the energy unmistakably forward-looking. These are bottles that signal where German wine is heading: precise, thoughtful, and driven by instinct rather than formula.

ABOUT OUR WINE DROP 18

The Original Unicorns WITH La Ferme de la Sansonnière AND Domaine Lassak

What we have in the box nr. 18:

THE ORIGINAL UNICORNS

Whenever I start working with new winemakers, allocations are often limited at first. But I didn’t want to wait to share these wines with you, so we decided to approach this drop a little differently.

This time, there are several mixed boxes. Each box includes one wine from Angeli and two wines from Lassak. You apply once, automatically for all boxes — there’s no option to choose a specific combination. If you receive an allocation, it has to be taken as assigned.

All drops have one thing in common: there’s always a Chenin Blanc, a Riesling, and a Lemberger.

And yes — believe it or not — I put a Lemberger in this drop. On purpose.
Not to provoke you, but to pull you out of the Pinot-Noir-only comfort zone.
This isn’t about replacing Pinot. It’s about realising how much elegance, tension, and quiet confidence Lemberger can have when it’s done properly.

Please only apply if you’re confident you’ll be happy with any of the possible combinations.

The following boxes are available:

Box 1 = La Lune 2024 (La Ferme de la Sansonnière) · Riesling 2023 (Domaine Lassak) · Lemberger 2023 (Domaine Lassak)
