DROP 14
Drop 14 - SAME GRAVITY. DIFFERENT ALTITUDE
Thibault & Alizée Tassin, Winery Seckinger
In the Côte des Bar, Thibault and Alizée farm a single family hectare in Celles-sur-Ource, launching their own label in 2019. Biodynamics, handwork and wild fermentations guide everything; old barrels and zero dosage keep the wines raw and honest. Tiny yields and even tinier volumes make their Champagne feel deeply personal — precise, bright and shaped by the quiet devotion behind every bottle.
In Niederkirchen, the Seckinger brothers farm 14 hectares across the Pfalz, working organically and biodynamically since founding the estate in 2012. Spontaneous fermentations, long lees aging and a fearless low-intervention mindset shape their wines. Riesling, Pinot and Burgunder varieties become tense, salty, energetic expressions of the Mittelhaardt — bottles that feel alive, uncompromising and rooted in their rugged soils.
Inside the box
Thibault Tassin – Champagne “Les Fioles” Millésimé 2021
From their tiny hectare in Celles-sur-Ource, “Les Fioles” captures 2021 as it truly was: a cool, focused vintage that pushed purity to the forefront. Wild fermentation and quiet patience in old barrels let the wine grow in its own rhythm. The result feels like a single snapshot of their terroir — linear, bright, and composed — a vintage Champagne that speaks softly but with absolute intention.
Drinking recommendation: Mid 2026
Thibault Tassin – Champagne “Soirée d’hiver en Pays Aubois”
This cuvée unfolds like a winter evening in the Aube: calm, deep, slowly revealing layers. Crafted with the same biodynamic care and low-intervention touch, the wine leans into the darker, more contemplative side of their terroir. Longer elevage and the restraint of zero dosage shape a Champagne that’s comforting yet precise — a quiet glow rather than a spark.
Drinking recommendation: Mid 2026
Seckinger – 1 Tal 2023
“1 Tal” channels the steep, mineral-rich sites the Seckinger brothers farm in the Pfalz. 2023 brought clarity and drive, and the brothers let the fruit ferment spontaneously, trusting the vineyard to speak. The wine carries their signature tension — salty, energetic, pulsing with hillside minerality. It’s a snapshot of the valley’s raw edges, polished only by time on lees and gentle hands.
Drinking recommendation: 2027
