I’m always watching. Always tasting. Always searching for the next exciting wine to share with you.

But the most exciting discoveries aren’t always new names. Sometimes it’s a winemaker you’ve known for years whose latest releases suddenly take things to a whole new level. Sometimes it’s a grape variety you’ve never really paid much attention to, until someone puts a glass in front of you and completely changes your mind.

I love following winemakers over the years, watching their styles evolve, their ideas change and their wines become more and more exciting. Because in wine, there’s always something new to discover, even in places you thought you knew inside out.

And that’s exactly what DROP 33 is all about.

First up is Carsten Saalwächter, one of the most fascinating wine people I know in Germany. His Grauer Stein is absolutely mind-blowing. I’ve tasted this wine blind and genuinely mistaken it for bottles from some of Burgundy’s most celebrated producers. The depth, the precision, the energy. If you think Silvaner isn’t your thing, this wine might seriously change your mind.

Then there’s Seiichi Saito of Petit Roy, a winemaker whose evolution over the past few years has been incredibly exciting to follow. His latest releases show just how far his wines have come. His Chardonnay is a beautiful example of why it’s always worth revisiting a producer you think you already know.

And finally, our fav one, Tino Kuban of Maison Glandien, a man on a mission to make Aligoté great again. With his uncompromising approach and endless curiosity, he’s showing just how extraordinary Burgundy’s often underestimated white grape can be. Forget everything you thought you knew about Aligoté.
