OUTSTANDING GERMANY MEETS HOTLY SOUGHT AFTER BURGUNDY: IT’S SEXY AND YOU KNOW IT!

Winery SAAlwächter

Ingelheim am Rhein, Rheinhessen

Carsten Saalwächter stands for a calm, thoughtful approach to German wine, rooted in precision and restraint rather than expressionism. His work is shaped by a deep respect for vineyards and a clear belief that balance and longevity come from patience, not intervention.

Farming is carried out with great care, focusing on healthy soils and low yields, while cellar work remains deliberately minimal. Time plays a central role in his wines: long élevage, gentle handling, and no rush to release.

This Chardo will turn heads

I have been a huge fangirl since 2018. For me, Saalwächter is THE reference when it comes to Chardonnay and Silvaner in Germany: wines with depth, tension, and an effortless sense of calm that very few manage to achieve.

The resulting wines are clear, structured, and quietly complex, driven by saltyness and power. Subtle, confident, and built to last — This wine will turn heads!

Maison Glandien

Meursault, Burgundy

Tino Kuban is a name that commands attention in the world of winemaking. At just 30 years old, Tino has already made a significant impact, bringing his expertise and passion to Maison Glandien and Les Jardins Vivants in Burgundy. Having worked in renowned wine regions all over the world, he combines global experience with a clear personal vision.

Fully committed to biodynamic practices, Tino manages every step himself, from vineyard to cellar, with an unwavering respect for nature. He relies exclusively on Stockinger barrels, adding an extra layer of precision and elegance to his wines.

precision, depth, and consistency

Tino Kuban enters a new chapter with the 2024 vintage, which marks the first year produced in his new cellar. More than a technical shift, it reflects a clear and deliberate vision: not to increase the production of Les Jardins Vivants, but to bring Maison Glandien to the same level of precision, depth, and consistency.

This intention is already tangible in the wines. Precision, balance, and restraint guide every step of his work.

His dedication and ability to consistently exceed expectations make him one of the most compelling winemakers of his generation — and very clearly one to watch.

Winery Seckinger

FREINSHEIM, Palatinate Forest

Jonas, Philipp, and Lukas Seckinger didn’t inherit a grand estate or generations of prestige.
They built everything themselves — starting from a few family plots in Niederkirchen, in Germany’s Pfalz region, and a shared belief that wine should be alive, raw, and real. From day one, the brothers took the long road:

fearless, curious, and self-made

farming biodynamically, working every parcel by hand, fermenting with wild yeasts, and refusing to manipulate the outcome. Their goal wasn’t perfection, but honesty — to let the vineyards speak louder than the winemaker.

Each wine they produce reflects that conviction: vibrant, structured, full of tension and soul. The Seckinger style is precise but untamed — a blend of instinct and discipline that feels both modern and timeless.

They’re part of a new generation redefining what German wine can be — fearless, curious, and self-made.

Rings is about precision and soul, about the courage to keep pushing boundaries while staying deeply connected to their land. It’s the taste of ambition done right.

ABOUT OUR WINE DROP 19

It's Sexy and you know it!

What we have in the box nr. 16:

For over a year now, I’ve been tasting my way through Germany, searching for Chardonnay that stands on its own — not copied, not styled after somewhere else, but unmistakably itself. Bottle by bottle, I looked for clarity, for intention, for that quiet moment when a wine feels rooted in its place.

From all those tastings, 5 bottles rose above the rest. 5 wines that feel genuine, focused, and confidently individual.

Here is Part 2. together with Maison Glandien

Chardonnay -R- 2022 – Winery Saalwächter

The Chardonnay R 2022 from Carsten Saalwächter is a precise, quietly confident Chardonnay rooted in limestone soils and shaped by a long élevage in barrel. Fermented spontaneously and aged patiently on the lees, it gains depth and texture without losing freshness or tension. Nothing is pushed — everything feels measured, calm, and exact.

For me this is one of the best Chardonnays I’ve had in a long time. Clear, saline, layered, and super salty. It is turning my head!!!!

Cruci 2024 – Maison Glandien

La Cruci 2024 is a finely balanced white from Chardonnay (70%) and Pinot Blanc (30%), sourced from a west–north facing vineyard in Haute Cote de Beaune. Planted in 1982 on clay-limestone soils, the site brings natural freshness, restraint, and a quiet mineral backbone to the wine.

The 2024 vintage was raised in 4.5 pièces, with 65% new oak, adding structure and depth without overt woodiness. Focused, layered, and precise, La Cruci combines tension with subtle richness — a composed, elegant wine that unfolds slowly and promises real ageing potential.

Maikammer Kapellenberg 2023 –  Winery Seckinger

The Maikammer Kapellenberg 2023 from Weingut Seckinger is a focused, terroir-driven Chardonnay from a limestone-rich hillside site in the Pfalz. Cool, precise and finely reductive, it shows clarity and tension rather than weight.

The wine is fermented and aged entirely in new oak, giving structure and depth while remaining controlled and balanced. Structured yet elegant, with saline freshness and quiet intensity, it is a clear expression of site and Seckinger’s uncompromising approach.
